Synchronicities
Nothing exists beyond logic, science, and reason - or so I believed. Certainly, nothing exists beyond the five senses. Stories of God and angels are just fantasy - aren’t they?
The only thing that could change this belief was nearly losing my life, shifting consciousness, and coming face to face with the unseen and unexplainable. Having lived through a bizarre (and somewhat rare) Spiritual Emergency, I know now with absolute certainty that higher powers do, indeed, exist.
After my shift in consciousness, I could clearly see that I had never been alone. I’d had celestial help throughout my entire life. Call them what you will (guardian angels, spirit guides, inner knowing/intuition), these ‘energies’ had been working tirelessly to help me wake up - to remind me of my soul, to provide comfort, and to help me recognize a destructive ego. For nearly five decades, signs and synchronicities had been placed in my path repeatedly, but remained completely unseen by me until my breakthrough. I’d been so blind to anything beyond the physical that I’m sure my spirit guides were up there rolling their eyes in frustration.
Once I had separated from my ego, I could see these signs as clearly as puzzle pieces and wept simultaneously with gratitude and remorse...and then I laughed at the totality of my denseness. How had I missed all of these clues?
Hindsight has enabled me to recognize the value and importance of synchronicities in our lives, which is why I’m sharing this information with you now.
Even if you are highly skeptical, Spirit will still find ways to communicate with you. If, like me, you have not have been blessed with the gift of ‘clairs’ (clairvoyance, clarsentience, clairaudience, etc.), the only way that Spirit can bridge the gap is through the material world - using numbers, symbols, signs, and the five human senses. The final chapter of Lightworker provides examples of some of these signs and symbols, with tips on how to recognize them both in your personal history and in the present moment.
Remaining open to higher powers will enable greater depth for introspection through meditation and/or journalling. By examining synchronicities in tandem with events from your personal history, and seeing them as puzzle pieces instead of hurtful events, you can view your life from a much higher perspective. Seeing life as a gift of lessons promotes soul expansion, which elevates personal and collective consciousness. If you can accept that higher powers exist, I’m hoping that you will be able to solve your puzzle a little sooner than I did. May it bring you comfort to know that you are not alone, and that help is literally all around you even if you can’t see it yet.

Once I’d put all of my puzzle pieces together, I was able to complete the manuscript for Lightworker, but the synchronicities kept coming in abundance, including the following series of events that led to the revelation of my primary Spirit Guide.
In the spring of 2022, I attended Christina Lopes’ annual retreat in Portugal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAlrKsMf9C4&t=2145s Even though we had never met, her virtual support and similar awakening experience validated my spiritual emergency and freed me from a misdiagnosis of bipolar disorder. Deeply indebted to her, I signed up for the retreat in order to ask some lingering questions about the ego. At the end of an educational and transformative week, a final nightly ceremony was held to honour and call forth Divine Feminine energies. In a hotel ballroom filled with over 100 participants, we formed two large circles around Christina as she guided us through the process. The lights dimmed, candles were lit, and we closed our eyes. Instructed to focus inwards, we were to pay close attention to the body’s reaction(s) to the names that would be called out by Christina - any resonance could indicate a connection with our spirit guide(s). Amid sage, sprays, drums, and feathers, Christina stepped into her shamanic powers to summon the energies of Gaia, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Kali Ma, Aphrodite, Athena, Parvati, Lakshmi, Isis, Hera, etc… Only a few names were familiar to me, and none affected me until Christina called out, “Grandmother Anna!”
Instant recognition reverberated through every cell in my body - a clear resonance that was impossible to ignore. Logic linked my body’s response to the fact that my granny and coach (Anna) had been responsible for saving my life, but this feeling indicated something much deeper. Who was this Divine Feminine energy? The next morning, as I was saying goodbye to Christina, I mentioned my reaction and asked who Grandmother Anna was. Her reply nearly brought me to my knees. “She was the grandmother of Jesus.” To have such a powerful Spirit Guide, whether one believes in such things or not, definitely gives one pause to think.
As I connected the dots, I thought back to the exact dates of my ‘choice points’ and recognized yet another synchronicity:
1996 - 33 years old - thoughts of my granny stopped me from choosing a watery grave
2018 - 55 years old - coach Anna (Sophia in the book) led me out of the darkness
The two moments in time when I seriously considered ending my life - at 33 and 55 years old - were 22 years apart.
These numeric synchronicities are confirmation (for me) that Grandmother Anna has not only been a major presence in my life, but also a guiding force behind the regular downloads, ancient wisdom, and messages of unconditional love that came through so strongly after my shift, all of which led to the creation of Lightworker.

Coincidence? Perhaps. I’ll let you decide.
Everything happens for a reason, and we need to start paying attention.
