Hindsight and Gnosis

Gnosis:  Experiential Mystical Knowing (knowing based on lived experience)

Hindsight is a beautiful thing. And lived experience unlocks a kind of wisdom no library can offer.

My particular lived experience has been discounted - even dismissed - for multiple reasons, most of which will probably remain unknown to me. The most obvious reason may be because I lack the academic and/or spiritual credentials to back up a rather unusual spontaneous spiritual awakening (aka Spiritual Emergency or Accidental Enlightenment). A university degree, or two, is often required for one to be taken seriously.

And yet, some of the most essential truths in life cannot be taught. They must be lived.

Being dropped into a vortex of darkness and fighting my way back out, was the only way I could have learned some of life’s most important lessons - that we are never truly alone, that we are not broken, and that change is possible. It may not have been the best way to realign with my soul and find peace, but it was the only option available to me at the time.

Whether this spiritual emergency was accidental, destined, or a soul choice doesn’t really matter.

What matters is this: through a profound midlife upheaval, I came to see very clearly the truth of who I am - who we all are. There is nothing wrong with any of us. We are all whole and connected at a soul level of consciousness. That feeling of being separate and/or not enough comes from an egoic state of consciousness in which we strive to escape human suffering through the pursuit of happiness.

Therein lies the paradox: The more we search for happiness, the less likely we are to find it.

For me, the path to inner peace was not really a path at all, but a choice to turn my back on the darkness. When I finally got so sick of the betrayals, loss, and suffering and finally declared, “I’m not living like this anymore - there must be a better way…”, that’s when things start to change.

Inner peace grows from the choice to say “No!” to the inner critic and choose love over fear. When you turn your back on the ego, toxic beliefs and labels begin to collapse. Fear of losing your former life dissolves, the door to self-love unlocks, and you move beyond a 3D mindset.

If you have done the work of surrender, acceptance and forgiveness, the shift from ego identity to soul alignment happens as naturally as breathing. You dissolve into the energies of light and Love…relief, warmth, safety, gratitude…overflowing with joy, clarity, wisdom, connection…and peace.

The shift is permanent.

Gnosis is real.

And you experience hindsight. Not merely a reflection of your lived experience but a remembrance of who you have always been.

Self-actualization can be taught and understood, but enlightenment is a choice that must be lived.
